Day 35-38

A series inspired by Alberto Giacometti's, City Square
1948. I mixed ground metallic powder with the oil paint to create a richer texture in the figure areas of the paintings.

Day 34

Day 28

Day 27

This was an experiment in abstraction. It's an image that has been floating around in my head for awhile now. It is painted on a 1/2" thick, square 1' x 1' piece of lucite. It has many areas of transparency in the piece and it is painted on the front and on the back of the lucite giving an interesting perception of depth.

Day 25

Here is a painting from a photograph. My first attempt at realism in quite some time. I've been hesitant to attempt a realistic painting but I am well pleased with my resulting attempt.

My favorite part of this painting is how the stained and varnished wood emulates skin, which for me actually bounces the painting back and forth between the realistic and impressionistic world...

Day 24

Just and experiment in using monotone color.
