Here is a painting from a photograph. My first attempt at realism in quite some time. I've been hesitant to attempt a realistic painting but I am well pleased with my resulting attempt.My favorite part of this painting is how the stained and varnished wood emulates skin, which for me actually bounces the painting back and forth between the realistic and impressionistic world...
